CECYLIA FERRANDON
Expert in Sustainable Materials and Luxury Innovation
Cecylia Ferrandon is a French-American entrepreneur and executive with a 15-year track record at the intersection of material science, sustainable innovation, and consumer product excellence. Trained as a chemical engineer and materials specialist, she began her career at Apple, where she spent nearly a decade developing and validating next-generation materials for some of the world’s most iconic devices and packaging systems.
At Apple, Cecylia held engineering and leadership roles across the Polymer Materials and Packaging Materials teams, pioneering the use of post-consumer recycled plastics and bio-based materials in mainstream consumer electronics. Her work directly influenced the environmental footprint of products like the iPhone, Apple Watch, and MacBook lines, as well as the packaging that defines the Apple unboxing experience.
After Apple, Cecylia joined KonMari Media, the lifestyle brand founded by Marie Kondo, where she led the development and launch of the company’s first physical product line. As COO, she helped define the operational and manufacturing strategy, oversaw international vendor partnerships, and scaled production in less than three months — contributing to the brand’s growth ahead of its acquisition by Rakuten.
She then joined Ginkgo Bioworks as a business development lead, working with luxury brands across fashion, beauty, and materials to help integrate synthetic biology solutions — enabling more sustainable ingredients, fragrances, and textiles through engineered microbes.
Cecylia is now working on a new venture in the fashion and sustainability space, combining her deep technical expertise with a long-standing commitment to ethical design and innovation.
Cecylia Ferrandon is based in San Francisco. Her expertise spans material engineering, product development, supply chain, startup operations, and brand strategy.
